DMP template for RI users

Data management plan template for RI users preparing computational, experimental or mixed materials science datasets for controlled storage, documentation, publication and reuse.

Resource type: DMP template

Hosted / supported by: FAIR Data Competence Center for Digital Materials Research

Purpose

This template supports RI users in preparing a basic data management plan for computational, experimental or mixed materials science datasets. It helps define how research data will be collected, documented, stored, shared, cited and preserved.

What it contains

The template includes sections for dataset description, responsible persons, data types, expected outputs, storage location, documentation needs, metadata requirements, access conditions, licence, repository deposit, DOI assignment, long-term preservation and reuse conditions.

How it is used

Researchers, data stewards, facility staff and service providers use this template at the beginning of a research task, pilot chain or service request. It helps clarify what data will be produced, who is responsible for documentation and which steps are needed before publication or reuse.

Recommended use

Use this DMP template when planning a new RI service request, pilot use case, computational workflow, experimental measurement campaign or combined experimental-computational dataset. The DMP should be updated during the work and checked before repository deposit.
